Day to Day
Play underpins all development and learning for young children and we have a wide range of equipment and other resources to meet the needs of all children, taking into account their age and abilities.
When the children arrive at school they are greeted by the Manager/Supervisor and are encouraged to say ‘Good morning’ building on respect and communication. The children self register by finding their name and putting it on our name board.
During the session the children are free to play in the back garden or in the hall with many different activities and resources. The snack area is open at 9:30am and a range of freshly prepared fruit and vegetables are always on offer, encouraging healthy eating. The children are able to choose when they wish to eat and it is a time for them to socialise, laugh together and make new friends.
Later in the morning the children are encouraged to help tidy away toys and then they may choose to play out in the front garden, join in with singing or dancing, play musical instruments and/or have a story.
In the academic year in which children are four, they have the opportunity to go into the separate Busy Bee room. This not only helps build their self esteem and confidence, but also aids them in preparing for the next big step in their lives – moving onto primary school. While in the Busy Bee room, they will take part in register time, circle time and P.E.
